Travel tip of the day

It’s about that time you have explored all day, your feet hurt, you’re tired and most of all hungry. You see a quaint little place to eat, the stars have aligned – your travel mate agrees this is a good spot to check out – you like the vibe and you walk in -no tables – an hour wait – reservations only!  I have been in this situation more than once and it is frustrating. It makes me more hungry – more tired and more cranky.

As of late I have been using an app on my handy little iPhone called Open Table. I do a little research and planning ahead to book all of my tables in advance. It is so easy to use and I’m never disappointed. On a few occasions I have changed my mind and as easy as the reservation is to make it is to cancel.  There is a huge selection of restaurants in most urban locations and some suburban. I have found some real gems! From basic grub to luxury 5 star dining. I encourage you to use this app and pre-book when you are away on holiday. After all your time is precious who wants to waste time pounding pavements look for a good meal and glass of wine (or 2 – after all you are on holiday and bottles are more economical).

What is your travel tip of the day?

About the Author

I don't travel to escape I travel to self discover. To see different parts of the world to build my personal tool kit. I enjoy the path less travelled to truly learn about the traditions and nuances of my fellow citizens of this great world. Born and raised in Toronto of Trinidadian descent I never forget my roots and as much as I love leaving on that jet plane I always find satisfaction in coming home to my great city to share the tales of my great adventures with my friends and family.
