Half Moon Parties

The original Half Moon Festival goes off twice a month (at each half moon!) and it’s a fun event. It happens a week before and a week after the Full Moon Party in the jungle in Ban Tai with resident DJs playing tribal house and trance beats.

The party is located deep in the jungle in Ban Tai and a large dance floor has been made along with a chill out deck. There are flourescent lights and psychedelic string sculptures dangling from the coconut trees giving it a really differnet vibe to the Full Moon Party.

Unlike Full Moon, the Half moon Party has only one DJ happy wheels demo deck, which means if you don’t like the heavy techno/trance music then there’s no alternatives to run too!

There are food stalls, flourescent paint stalls, t-shirt stands and currently a 500 Baht entrance fee (which includes an alcoholic drink). New bylaws regarding noise and disturbance have come into effect on Koh Phangan due to the growing number of parties located close to domestic areas.

Very easy to remember the party dates, it is always one week before and one week after the “Full Moon Party“. Check our 2013 and 2014 Schedule Date:
