{"id":6719,"date":"2014-02-27T13:50:57","date_gmt":"2014-02-27T13:50:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ididgo.com\/?p=6719"},"modified":"2014-02-27T13:50:57","modified_gmt":"2014-02-27T13:50:57","slug":"tripadvisor-hits-milestone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ididgo.com\/?p=6719","title":{"rendered":"Tripadvisor Hits Milestone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Excerpt from <strong><a style=\"color: #4c5fdb;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.breakingtravelnews.com\/news\/article\/tripadvisor-reaches-new-milestone\/\">BreakingTravelNews<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>TripAdvisor has announced it has reached a new user-generated content milestone making it the first travel site to offer consumers 150 million reviews and opinions \u2013 a 50 per cent increase year-over-year.<\/p>\n<p>TripAdvisor collects more than 90 user contributions a minute that allow travellers worldwide to make informed decisions based on the personal experiences of other travellers.<\/p>\n<p>More than two billion unique worldwide visitors a year visit TripAdvisor to research, plan, and book their travel at more than 3.7 million accommodations, restaurants, and attractions.<\/p>\n<p>More than 500 million people worldwide are also able to view TripAdvisor ratings, reviews, and opinions on the websites of almost 1,000 brands every month.<\/p>\n<p>Partners include hotel groups such as Wyndham and other leading online travel suppliers.<\/p>\n<p>The review celebrated as the 150 millionth piece of content posted on TripAdvisor was written by TripAdvisor member Erin S after a Valentine\u2019s Day weekend retreat with her husband.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the first review she has written on TripAdvisor.<\/p>\n<p>The review titled \u201cA warm and inviting retreat\u2026you\u2019ll want to return!\u201d is of the Cameron House Inn, a bed and breakfast in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, United States.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFourteen years ago, TripAdvisor saw an opportunity to help travellers help each other make informed travel decisions by sharing their first-hand experiences, reviews, and photos,\u201d said Steve Kaufer, co-founder of TripAdvisor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow, the internet and user-generated content have completely changed the way we plan, book, and share our trips.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to a recently commissioned report conducted by PhoCusWright on behalf of TripAdvisor, more than half of global respondents do not want to make a booking commitment until they read reviews and find out what other travellers think about a property.<\/p>\n<p>More than 80 percent say the site\u2019s reviews help them feel more confident in their travel decisions, and help them to have a better trip.<\/p>\n<p>The survey also reveals some interesting findings about why travellers write reviews and how they use them when planning a trip<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Excerpt from BreakingTravelNews TripAdvisor has announced it has reached a new user-generated content milestone making it the first travel site to offer consumers 150 million reviews and opinions \u2013 a 50 per cent increase year-over-year.
